SlimLibrary functions as an efficient player and remote control for the Logitech© Media Server, designed to enhance your media management experience. It offers a range of features, including:

• Browsing through your entire media library.
• Controlling all connected players.
• Viewing album images, including back covers and inner sleeves.
• Listening to music on iOS devices.
• Accessing album information uploaded to the server.
• Viewing videos on your iOS device.
• Streaming from any LMS-supported streaming service to your iOS device.

The SlimLibrary Plugin introduces additional capabilities not typically available through the standard Logitech© Media Server, with support for LMS version 7.9.1 and above.

Browsing Features

SlimLibrary allows users to browse their music libraries by artist, composer, genre, or year, as well as to see the latest albums added to the server. Users can combine multiple criteria—such as artist with genre or year—to refine selections further.

A variety of sorting options is also available, allowing users to arrange their selections by album, artist, year, and more. The combination of various artists, composers, genres, or years into a single search enhances user control over their media collections and enables both ascending and descending sort orders. Additionally, the plugin allows for sorting by the date items were added to the server, which aids in rediscovering forgotten albums.

Viewing Album Images

The plugin allows users to display any images associated with albums uploaded to the server. This functionality enables users to view album art such as back covers or inner sleeves directly on their iOS devices. Scanning booklets that accompany CDs for upload means users can also read supplementary materials right from their devices.

Playing Videos

SlimLibrary extends its capabilities to video content by permitting users to view and play videos uploaded to the server, supporting formats compatible with iOS devices.

Reading Album Information

With the plugin installed, users can upload text files containing album information for easy display on their devices. Liner notes can be included in an info.txt file and managed alongside albums on the server. Additionally, if the "Music and Artist Information" plugin is active, users will have access to album reviews as well.

Today View Integration

The application features a Today View that streamlines access to essential player controls. Users can quickly adjust volume levels, pause or play tracks, navigate between songs, and launch SlimLibrary directly from the today widget.
